Intro

  • If you’ve ever wondered how to incorporate spirituality and mindfulness into your day, dive right in.
  • This article is your guide to infusing the sacred teachings of scripture and the practice of mindfulness into your daily life.

Let’s start this soul-enriching journey together and fill our days with wisdom and peace!

Spirituality & Mindfulness: Meaningful Mornings

“Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you.”

Psalm 143:8

When you get up, what is the first thing you do? Checking your phone? Hitting the snooze button?

These acts aren’t benefitting you, as you probably know. But how can you start your day the right way?

It is the perfect time to awaken your spirit before you get to deal with the issues of the rest of the world.

Begin your day with getting up to honor God by prioritizing meditation and prayer.

I start of my day with journalling to set a tone of gratitude and positivity.

Next, I start my morning prayer and read bible verses.

Lastly, I finish with meditating for a while to process my thoughts and truly become at peace.

Spirituality & Mindfulness: Blissful Breaks

“Be still and know that I am God.”

Psalm 46:10

During your day, you’re probably rushing from one place, meeting or task to another and are never still.

So, it’s hard to find an opportunity to reconnect with God. However, here’s how you can change that.

Combine it with habits you already have, for example eating or brushing your teeth.

It’s called habit stacking and allows you to be reminded to work on your new habit.

So make it a ritual to have a moment of gratitude and appreciation.

Just close your eyes, take a deep breath and pray before eating or after completing a task on your schedule.

Spirituality & Mindfulness: Sacred Studying

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success

Joshua 1:8

Next to praying it also important to study the Word of God to deepen your understanding.

Make it a habit to study upon verses daily and try to reflect on what it teaches you.

As Romans 15:3 says: “For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide, we might have hope.”

You can spiritually grow and change yourself based on these teachings, so see it as guide. Psalm 119:105 says it perfectly: “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path”

Pray to God for understanding and know that you’re not alone in this. You could get Bible education together with others from your church.

Most importantly, really make time to study and check if all in your life is according to the Scripture.

Spirituality & Mindfulness: Acts of Kindness

“Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Mark 12:31

In life we all want to be loved but instead of only receiving try to focus on giving.

To everyone around you but also to yourself as the verse says.

So, see your self-improvement journey as a way to practice self-love.

Work on improving your mind, spirit and soul by doing activities that will make you grow as a person.

Besides this, imagine your interactions with others as opportunities to practice kindness, compassion and forgiveness as well.

Remember that you’re honoring God by showing His love through your actions.

So, become in His image and likeness and “Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children.” (Ephesians 5:1)

Spirituality & Mindfulness: Mindful Reflections

“In peace, I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.”

Psalm 4:8

When your day comes to an end, it’s time to reflect as part of your night time routine.

Before you go to sleep, review your day and journal or think about how you can make tomorrow better

Lastly pray to God, expressing your gratitude and releasing any worries.

As the verse shows that when you trust in the Lord, you will have rest and peace.
